My first novel. Republican Bastards, is meant to be light-hearted, easy to read, and fun. I think of myself as a moderate democrat with a personal passion for campaign finance reform. I believe politics has evolved to the point where a qualified candidate with average or less financial means is denied equal opportunity to run for national political office. I don't think members of Congress can be trusted to change the system, so I decided to create a story illustrating my frustration, taking a measure of revenge against the political system in a humorous manner. The story is as much about the relationship of a married couple as it is about politics. When sixty year old Josh Kemper has an extra-terrestrial experience and then wins a lot of money, it means Republicans beware. The mischievous Josh and his wife Peggy begin to travel, and the excitement begins. He foils a bank robbery, and then the Speaker of the House of Representatives feels Josh's wrath. A special prosecutor and TV personality, Corkscrew, find themselves at the mercy of Josh's pranks. Enter the FBI, medical, scientific and space officials to sort out the mystery. Josh has an uncanny knack for luck guiding his every move. When Josh appears in Washington, D.C., Congress rises to the occasion.
